Volunteering

Belfast & Lisburn Women’s Aid works to tackle domestic abuse against women and children.

Our aim is to eliminate domestic abuse and to challenge the attitudes and beliefs which perpetuate it.

Our work is underpinned by an ethos of self-help and mutual support, for women, with women, by women.

At Belfast & Lisburn Women’s Aid, we take an approach to volunteering that recognises the busy culture in which we live, work and play. We seek to help Volunteers find an opportunity that fits in with their lifestyle as well as complementing and adding value to the existing service provision here at Women’s Aid.

Belfast & Lisburn Women’s Aid provides full training, guidance and support to all volunteers to enable them to fulfil their roles within the organisation, as well as gain personal benefits from the experience.  Some of these benefits may include:

  • Meeting new people and building social circles
  • Reducing loneliness
  • Developing or building on a skill set
  • Increasing ability to gain employment
  • Confidence building
  • Gaining a sense of satisfaction

Current vacancies for Volunteering can be found under the ‘Work with Us’ section.
