Our conference theme for this year is:
“Redefining Domestic Violence: the unique impact of violence within Intimate Partner relationships.”
Much has been done in recent years to raise awareness regarding Domestic Violence. As welcome as this has been, a focus on the broader definition of domestic violence can blur the nature and impact of gendered violence experienced by women and their children whose current or former partners use the intimate relationship to further exercise their power and control. Through a combination of expertise, keynote speakers and collaborative discussion we aim to examine the impact of Intimate Partner Violence and explore best practice in supporting and empowering women and their children.
