We provide a range of support and accommodation services for women and children experiencing domestic abuse. Due to the level of contact with vulnerable women and children, the lawful recruitment of females for the following posts falls within the exemption stated in Article 10 (2b&e) of the Sex Discrimination (NI) Order 1976.

Domestic Violence Support Worker (Refuge) – Ref: DVSW03/24

Closing Date: 5.00pm on Monday 18th March 2024

Domestic Violence Support Workers provide emotional and practical support for women and their children who are experiencing or have experienced domestic violence. This includes working with women living in refuge, moving on from refuge and women living in the community. This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) permanent post based in South Belfast. Starting salary £25,119 per annum.

Communications & Engagement Co-Ordinator – Ref: CEC03/24

Closing Date: 5.00pm on Friday 22nd March 2024

The Engagement Co-ordinator will play a key role in promoting understanding of domestic violence and raising awareness of the organisation by ensuring the organisation’s communications are influential, informative and engaging for all stakeholders. This is a full-time permanent post based in South Belfast with some travel required. This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) permanent post based in South Belfast. Starting salary £25,119 per annum.

Gardening Volunteer (Refuge) – Ref: GV03/24

Closing Date: 5.00pm on Monday 18th March 2024

Gardening Volunteers will maintain and develop gardens, raised beds and planters to ensure a pleasant and enjoyable outdoor space for Women and Children who are living in refuge.  Gardening tools will be provided and volunteers will be reimbursed for any expenses incurred.  The post holder will receive a comprehensive induction and core training as well as ongoing support from a designated staff member and other volunteers.

Children’s Volunteer (Refuge) – Ref: CV03/24

Closing Date: 5.00pm on Monday 18th March 2024

Children’s Volunteers will assist staff in providing a safe, fun and caring environment for children whose mothers are using the services of Belfast & Lisburn Women’s Aid.  Age of children will vary according to school holiday times, volunteering location, days and time of day.  The post holder will receive a comprehensive induction and core training as well as ongoing support from a designated worker.
